Gordon and Morris Earn SAC Oklahoma Ford Dealers Men's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week Awards

Oklahoma City – Matthew Gordon of Wayland Baptist and Josh Morris of Texas Wesleyan have been named this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for their efforts this past week, as announced by the conference office Tuesday morning.
 
Gordon took first place in the 1000-meter run at the Texas Tech Jarvis Scott Invite with a time of 2:28.04. Gordon’s time against many NCAA Division I runners is an NAIA “B” Standard time for the indoor season and is 11th fastest in the NAIA.
 
Other nominees - Tajean Houston, Texas Wesleyan, Marques Cameron, Langston, Belkhalfi Hamza, Oklahoma City, and Kamron Neal, Panhandle State.
 
Morris also took part in the Jarvis Scott Invite and placed 10th in the Triple Jump with a mark of 14.82. His jump against many NCAA Division I athletes was both an NAIA “A” and “B” Standard and was the seventh longest jump in the NAIA this winter.
