Oklahoma City – Tajean Houston and Josh Morris of Texas Wesleyan have been named this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for their efforts this past week, as announced by the conference office Tuesday morning.
Houston took part in the JD Martin Invitational this past weekend and earned a first-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 7.71. His time is an NAIA “A” Standard mark and is also the fastest time this winter in the NAIA.
Other nominees - Montrell Blacknall, Nelson, Marques Cameron, Langston, Matthew Gordon, Wayland Baptist, Devin Page, UNT Dallas, Jaden Rodriguez, Mid-America Christian, Damien Williams, Oklahoma City, and Trevor Youngblood, Panhandle State.
Morris claimed the Field Athlete of the Week honor for the second consecutive week, placing fourth in the Triple Jump at the JD Martin Invitational. His jump of 14.90m is an NAIA “A” Standard and is the sixth-longest jump in the NAIA this season.
