Science & Arts Claims the Top Seed in the 2025 SAC Softball Championship

Oklahoma City – For the fourth time in program history, Science & Arts will enter the 2025 Sooner Athletic Conference Softball Tournament as the top seed in the championship that will begin on Thursday, May 1. The double elimination tournament will be contested at both Science & Arts and Oklahoma City, with the title game set to be played on Saturday, May 3.

The Drovers are currently ranked third in the latest NAIA Coaches Poll and will carry a 12-game winning streak into the tournament. Oklahoma City will be the No. 2 seed as they are ranked sixth nationally and are also riding a 12-game winning streak to end the regular season. Mid-America Christian will be the No. 3 seed, while Texas Wesleyan has grabbed the No. 4 seed.

The Drovers will host the top bracket after finishing the regular season with an overall record of 43-7 and a conference-best mark of 33-3. They will host the No. 8 seed, Wayland Baptist, who finished the season with an overall mark of 20-28 and a league record of 14-22. Science & Arts swept the season series between the two schools 4-0.

The second game at Science & Arts will see No. 4 seed Texas Wesleyan take on No. 5 seed Panhandle State. The Rams wrapped up the regular season with a record of 20-22 and a conference mark of 18-16. The Aggies join the tournament with an overall record of 25-25 and a conference mark of 17-19. Panhandle State won the regular season series 3-1 back in early March.

The bottom portion of the bracket will take place at Oklahoma City, as the Stars finished the regular season with a record of 43-7 and a conference record of 31-5. They will take on No. 7 seed Nelson, who completed the regular season with an overall record of 22-26 and a league mark of 16-20. Oklahoma City swept the four-game regular season series.

The final game at Oklahoma City will see No. 3 seed Mid-America Christian take on No. 6 seed Southwestern Christian. The Evangels completed the regular season campaign with an overall record of 26-16 and a conference mark of 22-10. The Eagles finished with an overall record of 26-22 and a league mark of 17-19. The two teams split their regular season series 2-2.

Action will begin at both Science & Arts and Oklahoma City on Thursday, May 1 at 11 a.m.
