Oklahoma City – Breyanna Kemp of Panhandle State and Morgan Wood of College of the Ozarks have been named this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for their efforts this past week, as announced by the conference office Tuesday morning.
Kemp scored 25.50 points in the SAC Championship Meet to earn the Most Outstanding Athlete of the Meet award as she won the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.04 while aiding the Aggies’ 4x100-meter relay team to a victory in the event with a mark of 47.80. Kemp also placed third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.17.
Other Nominees - Carissa Burns, Southwestern Christian, Kenna Conner, Texas Wesleyan, Inmaculada Delgado, Wayland Baptist, Kristian Nichols, UNT Dallas, Makayla Thompson, Langston, and Emilie Zylstra, College of the Ozarks.
Wood took home the heptathlon title at the SAC Championships by scoring 3,985 points. Wood won the three events in the heptathlon, including the 800-meter run and and grabbed second in three other events.
