Dean and Garza Claim SAC Digital Scoreboards Men's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week Awards

Oklahoma City – Demarion Dean of Oklahoma City and Aiden Garza of Texas Wesleyan have been named this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Digital Scoreboard Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for their efforts this past week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday morning.
 
Dean took part in the Texas Wesleyan Indoor Qualifier and grabbed a pair of first-place finishes in the event. Dean earned the top spot on the podium in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:55.72 and then claimed the 400-meter dash in a mark of 50.74.
 
Other Nominees - Mitchell Williams, Langston, Matthew Cook, John Brown, Omario Johnson, Science & Arts, and Cason Rodgers, Texas Wesleyan.
 
Garza also participated in the Texas Wesleyan Indoor Qualifier and won the pole vault with a school record jump. His mark of 4.30m is now a new program record and one of the top marks in the conference this winter.
