Oklahoma City – Marques Cameron of Langston and Brandon Clark, Jr., of Nelson have been named this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Digital Scoreboard Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for their efforts this past week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday morning.
Cameron took part in the Pitt State Invitational and improved his NAIA “A” standard time on the 400-meter dash during the event. His mark of 47.77 earned him fifth place in the event, as he now has the sixth fastest time in the NAIA this winter. Cameron was also part of the Lions’ 4x400-meter relay team that earned fourth place in the event with a time of 3:16.95.
Other Nominees - Lucky Maila, Mid-America Christian, Riley Randall, Oklahoma City, Ryder Robison, Wayland Baptist, and Joshua Samaron, Panhandle State.
Clark, Jr. took part in the Wichita State Coach Wilson Invitational and improved upon his NAIA “A” standard mark in the triple jump by winning the event with a leap of 15.05m. His jump is now the sixth-longest leap in the NAIA this winter.
