Moeller Named 2025-26 SAC Athletic Director of the Year

Oklahoma City – For the second time in his career, Mid-America Christian Athletic Director Marcus Moeller has been named the Sooner Athletic Conference Athletic Director of the Year as voted on by his peers. Moeller previously won the award back in the 2022-23 school year.

The Sooner Athletic Conference’s ADOY recognizes an outstanding athletics administrator based on accomplishments during the previous year in the areas of administration and service. Those considered have notable achievements in various areas of athletics administration, including budget development, staff development, facility development, student-athlete academic achievement, Champions of Character efforts, team success, and service to the conference and the NAIA.

Winners of each conference ADOY are then sent to the NAIA-ADA (Athletics Directors Association) Awards Committee for selection of the national award winner. The national winner will be recognized in conjunction with the NAIA National Awards Day in September.

“Marcus' selection as the SAC Athletic Director of the Year is incredibly well-deserved,” stated SAC Commissioner John Martin.  “He has done a great job at Mid-America Christian and has been a valuable voice within the conference. Marcus is someone people respect because he's thoughtful, collaborative, and always willing to help. I've seen firsthand the positive impact he's had on the SAC and how much he genuinely cares about helping the conference move forward. I'm grateful for his leadership and extremely happy to see him recognized by his peers.”

Moeller just completed his 11th year as Athletic Director at Mid-America Christian and has continued to lead the Evangels’ success both on the field and in the classroom. Over the past year, Mid-America Christian placed second in the SAC Commissioner’s Cup with the Evangels women’s basketball and baseball teams both winning the SAC postseason tournaments. Mid-America Christian’s baseball squad advanced to the NAIA final site and had an impressive run by winning its first-ever game at the World Series in Lewiston, Idaho.

Moeller is very active in the SAC as he is the AD liaison for both men’s and women’s soccer and has been very instrumental in helping craft new sport guidelines and governance pieces that will continue to push the conference to be one of the best in the nation.

On the national level, Moeller sits on the NAIA National Administrative Council and is the Chair of the NAIA Women’s Basketball National Tournament Selection Committee while also serving as the NAC Women’s Basketball Liaison.

"Thank you to my peers within the SAC for this recognition,” stated Moeller. “The award is a reflection of MACU's great campus leadership as well as our incredible athletic support staff, high-achieving coaches, and amazing student athletes. Those four groups on our campus deserve all the credit for the type of award.  I look forward to the work ahead of us as we continue to find new ways to build on the success we've experienced over the past several years."
