Oklahoma City – For the first time in program history, Elena Kagiali of Panhandle State has been named the NAIA National Volleyball Attacker of the Week as announced by the national office Tuesday afternoon. The award was voted on by a panel of institutional and conference sports information directors.
Kagiali helped the Aggies to a 1-1 conference record last week with 46 kills for an average of 5.75 kills per set with a hitting percentage of .370 on 100 total attacks over the two matches. Kagiali had her second 30 kill match in the loss to Oklahoma City. She added 32 digs and eight total blocks to her stat line for the week while scoring 54.0 points for the week with an average 6.8 points per set over the two matches.
Kagiali becomes the first Sooner Athletic Conference volleyball player to earn a national weekly award since Rylee Steward of Oklahoma City was named Defender of the Week back on Sept. 27, 2022.
