Oklahoma City – The NAIA National Office has announced that the Sooner Athletic Conference will be showcased on Friday evening as Nelson heads to Wayland Baptist for a pivotal conference match that is tabbed as one of the NAIA National Matches of the Week.
 
The Lions are 8-8 overall on the season and 6-1 in league action which is good for second place in the conference under first year head coach Nick Moore. Alexandra Bonnet leads the way for Nelson with 3.13 kills per set and 133 digs on the year while Taylor Cavazos has handed out 269 assists. Nelson, as a team is second in the conference in kills with 707 for an average of 11.98 kills per set.
 
The Pioneers are in a tie for third in the conference with an overall record of 6-5 and a league mark of 5-2 under first year head coach Lucie Mahelova. Fabe Ogunbade paces the Wayland Baptist attack with 100 kills while Martyna Lewinska has handed out 289 assists. The Pioneers have won four out of their last five matches heading into the key conference matchup.
