Oklahoma City – Kylon Polk of Louisiana Christian has been named the NAIA National Football Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the national office Monday evening. The award is voted on by institutional and conference sports information directors from around the country.
Polk had a career day for the Wildcats in their 77-6 win over Arkansas Baptist, as the freshman set a new school record with four interceptions in the contest, including one that he returned for a touchdown. Polk also added four tackles on the day, with three of those being solo stops.
Polk becomes the first SAC defensive player to win the national weekly award since Marquez Johnson of Panhandle State gained the honor back on March 15, 2021.
