Oklahoma City –Sierra Selfridge and Sophie Williams of Science & Arts has been named this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Oklahoma Ford Dealers Softball Players of the Week for their efforts over the past week, as announced by the conference office Monday morning.
Selfridge claimed this week’s Player of the Week award by helping the Drovers to a 4-0 record last week by going 8-of-12 at the plate for a .667 batting average with three doubles and a pair of home runs. Selfridge drove in 13 runs and scored five runs while having a 1.417 slugging percentage for the week.
Other Nominees - Brooklyn Araujo, Wayland Baptist, Emylee Campbell, Mid-America Christian, Melissa Carroll, Oklahoma Panhandle State, Holly Elam, Southwestern Christian, and Trista Ford, Nelson.
Williams earned the league’s Pitcher of the Week award for the second consecutive week by tossing her seventh career perfect game in a win over Peru State and then backed that up with a no-hitter in a victory over Nelson. Williams finished the week with 17 strikeouts and only one free pass in 10 innings worked and had a .10 WHIP over the span. Williams’s seventh perfect game put her in a tie for the most perfect games in NAIA history.
