Oklahoma City Advances to the NAIA Softball World Series Championship

Columbus, Ga. – Oklahoma City continued an incredible run at the 2025 NAIA Softball World Series by advancing to the championship game with a 3-1 victory over No. 7 seed Eastern Oregon Tuesday morning.

The Stars will look to claim their 12th Red Banner as they improved to 53-9 on the season after the winner’s bracket championship victory.

Oklahoma City once again received an outstanding outing in the circle by Emersen Heron, as she went the distance with five strikeouts while allowing four hits. After the game was tied at 1-1, Iliana Ashford gave the Stars the lead for good in the top of the fifth with a two-run single to right field to give Oklahoma City a 3-1 advantage over Eastern Oregon.

The Stars have allowed only one run in the first three games of the tournament while scoring an average of eight runs per contest.

The tournament will resume on Wednesday at 10 a.m. CT with the resumption of the Southern Oregon and Georgia Gwinnett contest, which was suspended due to inclement weather on Tuesday as the Raiders hold a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the seventh. The winner of that contest will take on Eastern Oregon 45 minutes after the conclusion of the suspended game.

The Stars will face off against the winner of the second game of the day in the championship game at 2 p.m. Wednesday, with the if necessary game slated for Thursday, May 28, at a time that will be determined.
