Oklahoma City – After claiming their first outright conference championship in 2024, Texas Wesleyan has claimed the top spot in the 2025 Sooner Athletic Conference Football Preseason Poll as voted on by the league's head coaches.
The Rams earned the No.1 slot in the poll with 64 points and eight first-place votes after finishing the 2024 campaign with an overall record of 10-1 and a perfect league record of 8-0. Texas Wesleyan advanced to the NAIA Postseason Tournament for the first time in program history before falling in the second round of the championship.
OUAZ garnered the second spot on the list with 55 points as they earned the other first-place ballot with an overall record of 8-2 and a league mark of 7-1. The Spirit joined Texas Wesleyan in the NAIA Postseason Tournament before falling in the opening round of the championship.
Langston garnered the third slot on the list with 48 points after tying for third last season with an overall mark of 6-4 and a conference record of 5-3.
Texas College gained the fourth spot on the list with 35 points after finishing a historic season in a tie for third place with an overall record of 7-3 and a league mark of 5-3.
