Oklahoma City – For the second time in her career, Texas Wesleyan’s Makena Junkin has been named the NAIA National Women’s Golfer of the Week as voted on by a panel of institutional and conference sports information directors.
Junkin also played in the Texas Intercollegiate last week and took home the top spot in the individual event with rounds of 72-72-64 for an eight-under-par score of 208. Junkin’s final round of 64 tied for the lowest round in program history. Junkin had 12 birdies with four bogies in the 54-hole event to help the Rams to a fourth-place finish in the team event.
Junkin last won the award for her efforts during the week of March 5, 2025.
