Oklahoma City – Meilani Butts of Langston and Marin Jacobs of Panhandle State have been named this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Netting Pros Softball Players of the Week for their efforts over the past week, as announced by the conference office on Monday morning.
Butts aided the Lions to a pair of wins over Haskell by going 4-of-5 at the plate for a batting average of .800 over the weekend. All of Butts’ hits were for extra bases as she had a double, two triples, and a home run. Butts drove in five runs while scoring five times herself. Butts finished the week with an on-base percentage of .875 and a slugging percentage of 2.400 with 12 total bases.

Jacobs earned a complete game victory in the circle for the Aggies in a 2-1 victory over Kansas Wesleyan. Jacobs allowed four hits in the outing with a pair of strikeouts and finished the contest with a .71 WHIP.
