Oklahoma City - Nick Hill and Byron Madero of Mid-America Christian have been named this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Netting Pros Baseball Player of the Week awards for their efforts over the past week, as announced by the conference office Monday morning.
Hill aided the Evangels to a 3-1 mark last week by going 8-of-15 at the plate for a batting average of .533, with three of those hits being home runs. Hill drove in eight runs while scoring seven times himself and added three stolen bases to his stat line. Hill wrapped up the week with a 1.133 slugging percentage and a .588 on-base percentage.
Other Nominees - Anthony Hampton, Science and Arts, Dario Paredes, Southwestern Christian, Aiden Van Rensum, Oklahoma City, Chase Robertson, College of the Ozarks, Christian Toledo, Wayland Baptist, and Zeke Velazquez, Nelson.
Madero helped the Evangels to a come-from-behind victory over Southwestern Christian as he earned the win with six innings of relief work. Madero had 10 strikeouts, which tied his career best, and allowed only one earned run and one hit in the outing. Madero finished the contest with a .83 WHIP.
