Oklahoma City – The Sooner Athletic Conference is proud to announce that Jordan Berry of Southwestern Christian has been named the 2025-26 SAC Athletic Trainer of the Year, as voted on by her peers in the conference.
Winners of each conference Athletic Trainer of the Year are sent to the NAIA Awards Committee for consideration for the national Athletic Trainer of the Year honor, which will be announced in September on NAIA National Awards Day.
“Athletic trainers are the lifeline for all of the conference athletic departments, and Berry is a prime example of how the relationship should work,” stated SAC Assistant Commissioner Jim Powers. “Jordan’s knowledge, conduct, and clinical excellence are second to none as she has strengthened the reputation of the profession within the SAC and the NAIA.”
Berry just completed her 3rd year at Southwestern Christian and has seen her impact and approach to care. Berry has led the Eagles’ injury prevention initiatives with measurable results, including reduced time-loss injuries through tailored preparation screenings, individualized return to play protocols, and sport-specific load management plans.
Beyond her day-to-day work at Southwestern Christian. Berry has strengthened her professional abilities in working with the Oklahoma City Spark for the past two summers. Berry has also received the Intercollegiate Council for Sports Medicine Excellence Award from the Oklahoma Athletic Trainers Association. Berry is also active in the community by volunteering at the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon to provide medical support for participants.
“Jordan Berry’s Christ-like servant leadership, dedication to our student-athletes, and commitment to excellence make her incredibly deserving of this honor,” stated Southwestern Christian Athletic Director Joe Blackwell. “We are proud to have her representing our athletic department and university.”
