Horace, McHugh, and Zeller Claim SAC Football Player of the Week Honors

Oklahoma City- Keamodre Horace of Wayland Baptist, Trace McHugh of Louisiana Christian, and David Zeller of Panhandle State are this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Football Players of the Week as announced by the conference office Monday morning.
 
Horace earned the league’s Offensive Player of the Week honor, while McHugh was named Defensive Player of the Week, with Zeller garnering the league’s Special Teams Player of the Week honor.
 
Horace earned his second consecutive weekly award by aiding the Pioneers to a 33-20 victory over Panhandle State by rushing for 203 yards on 20 carries with a touchdown and then added a reception for 14 yards in the win. Horace had an average of 10.2 yards per carry with a long run of 40 yards in the conference win.
 
Other Nominees - Jaylen MaGee, OUAZ, Mark Benjamin, Texas Wesleyan, and Xavion Butler, Louisiana Christian.
 
McHugh was outstanding in Louisiana Christian’s 42-6 non-conference victory over Fort Lauderdale Saturday afternoon as he had five total tackles with three solo stops. McHugh also had a sack for eight yards and 2.5 tackles for a loss for 11 yards in the win.
 
Other Nominees - Tyrone Morgan, Wayland Baptist, Sir Hill, Texas Wesleyan, and Corey Floyd Jr., OUAZ.
 
Zeller was a key player for Panhandle State in their loss to Wayland Baptist as he had three kickoff returns for 118 yards which was an average of 39.3 yards per return including an 87-yard return for a touchdown. Zeller also had a pair of receptions for 52 yards on the afternoon for the Aggies.
