Ammand and Iweze Earn SAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week Honors

Oklahoma City – Mohand Ammad of Science & Arts and Jesse Iweze of Nelson have earned this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards for their efforts over the past week, as announced by the conference office Monday morning.
 
Ammad paced the Drovers to a pair of victories last week as he averaged 29.5 points per game on 62.1 percent shooting. In a 115-107 win over Hesston, Ammad put up 40 points while shooting 14-of-19 in the contest. This was the second time this season that he had scored 40 or more points. Ammad also added 11 rebounds, five assists, and three steals to his stat line for the week.
 
Other Nominees - Micah Clark, Nelson, Jonas Carlisle, Oklahoma City, Montez Young, Jr., Texas Wesleyan, DJ Quarles, College of the Ozarks, Orlando Thomas, Langston, Chris Whitten, Central Christian, and Rico Yarbrough, Wayland Baptist.             
 
Iweze aided the Lions to a 91-86 overtime victory over RV LSU Shreveport by grabbing seven defensive rebounds and blocking six shots in 36 minutes played. Iweze also had 23 points in the victory.
