Oklahoma City – Brian Alexander of Oklahoma City and Jesse Iweze of Nelson have earned this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards for their efforts over the past week, as announced by the conference office Monday morning.
Alexander aided the Stars to a perfect 2-0 conference record last week by averaging 23.0 points over the span on 52.9 percent shooting from the field. In a win over Mid-America Christian, Alexander scored 29 points while handing out five assists in the contest. Alexander added eight rebounds and 12 total assists to his stat line for the week.

Iweze claimed his second straight defensive weekly honor by helping the Lions to a 1-1 conference mark last week by grabbing eight defensive boards and having seven blocked shots over the two-game period. Iweze had five blocks and six defensive caroms in a 77-71 loss to Langston to highlight the week.
