Oklahoma City – Micah Clark of Nelson and Shannon Strickland of Mid-America Christian have earned this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Digital Scoreboards Men’s Basketball Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards for their efforts over the past week, as announced by the conference office Monday morning.
Clark helped the Lions to a 2-0 record last week by averaging 21.5 points per game on 64.3 percent shooting from the field, while grabbing 13 rebounds over the span. Clark had a double-double in a 94-86 road win at Wayland Baptist, scoring 23 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Clark then added 20 points while going 8-of-10 from the field in a win at Panhandle State.

Strickland was a key defensive player for the Evangels during a 2-0 week, grabbing 12 defensive rebounds and recording three steals across the two games. Strickland posted his first career double-double in a win over Central Christian as he had 16 points and 11 rebounds, with 10 of those being on the defensive end.
