Oklahoma City - Makena Junkin of Texas Wesleyan has been named this week’s NAIA National Women’s Golfer of the Week after her performance last week. The award is voted on by university and conference sports information directors from around the country.
 
Junkin claimed the top spot at the Claud Jacobs Invitational with rounds of 70-70 to finish with a four under par score of 140 as she led the Rams to their eighth straight victory in the team standings at the event. Junkin’s score was five strokes better than the runner-up as she was the only player to finish under par in the event.
