Oklahoma City Garners the SAC Women's Golf Championship for the Fourth Straight Year

Kamas Claims Her Fourth Consecutive Individual Title

Oklahoma City – Oklahoma City maintained its 36-hole lead to claim its fourth consecutive Sooner Athletic Conference Women’s Golf championship at the Twin Hills Golf Club on Tuesday afternoon.  Maddie Kamas needed to work extra holes in her round to earn the medalist honors for the fourth straight time.
 
The Stars won the championship by finishing with a 40-over-par score of 904 over the two-day event, while Texas Wesleyan placed second with a 51-over-par score of 915. Science & Arts rounded out the top three with a team score of 1,044.
 
Kamas needed two extra holes to garner the individual title as she finished with rounds of 72-75-74 for a five-over-par score of 221, as she defeated teammate Logan Allen in the playoff. Allen had rounds of 74-73-74 to earn a spot in the playoff. Makena Junkin of Texas Wesleyan placed third in the championship after firing rounds of 73-76-76 for a 9-over-par score of 225 with Bethany Norton grabbing the fourth position with rounds of 77-76-74 for an 11-over-par score of 227. Raileigh Davidson and Salome Arango Marin of Texas Wesleyan finished tied for fifth with a score of 231 to round out the All-Tournament team.
 
The league All-Conference and post-season awards will be announced Wednesday, April 30, at 3 p.m.
