Wiley Claims NAIA National Men's Wrestler of the Week Award

Oklahoma City – John Wiley of Oklahoma City has been named the NAIA National Men’s Wrestler of the Week after his outstanding effort this past weekend. A panel of institutional and conference sports information directors votes on the national award.

Wiley went 5-0 in the 165 lb. weight class at the NWCA Nationals, which included wins over four ranked opponents. Wiley had three wins by pinfall, including wins against No. 4 and No. 20 in the country, and a major decision over the 13th-ranked wrestler in the country. Wiley’s efforts helped the Stars to a seventh-place finish in the national event.

Wiley becomes the second Oklahoma City men’s wrestler to win the national weekly award this season, as he joins Tate Picklo, who earned the award earlier this season.
