Anderson Claims NAIA National Softball Pitcher of the Week Honors

Oklahoma City – Jayden Anderson of Science & Arts has been named the NAIA National Pitcher of the Week for her efforts last week. The award is voted on by a national panel of conference and institutional sports information directors.

Anderson posted a 2-0 record in the circle for the Drovers last week with a pair of shutouts and a no-hitter against Nelson. Anderson finished the week by allowing only two hits and striking out 16 batters while walking two. Anderson had 11 strikeouts in her 9-0 no-hitter against the Lions. Anderson finished the week with a .31 WHIP and an 8.62 strikeouts per seven innings.

Anderson becomes the third Sooner Athletic Conference player to earn a national weekly softball honor as she joins Analise Rayburn of Oklahoma City, who won a national softball award twice, and Leighanne Eaton of Science & Arts in collecting national honors this spring.
