Duncan, Okla. – Oklahoma City took a 36-hole lead and extended the advantage in the final round to claim the 2026 Sooner Athletic Conference Men’s Golf Championship for the first time since 2021. The 54-hole championship was held at The Territory Golf and Country Club in Duncan, Okla.
Carter Ray of Oklahoma City also led wire-to-wire to claim the medalist honors for the tournament by a two-stroke advantage over teammate Lorenzo Santinelli.
The Stars earned the championship by firing rounds of 279-291-275 for a 19-under-par score of 845 to outdistance Science & Arts and Texas Wesleyan, who both finished two-over-par 866 for the event to tie for second place.
Ray was able to hold off his teammate by firing rounds of 66-73-66 for an 11-under-par score of 205, while Santinelli shot rounds of 68-72-67 for a nine-under-par score of 207. Jose Manuel Sanchez of Texas Wesleyan earned the third spot in the event with rounds of 67-72-71 for a six-under-par score of 210, while Dawson Branstetter of Southwestern Christian and Jack Newton finished the championship tied for fourth with a five-under-par score of 211.
The SAC All-Conference and postseason awards will be announced on Wednesday, April 29, at 2:30 p.m.
