Oklahoma City – Following an outstanding season and a sixth-place finish in the recent Sooner Athletic Conference Men’s Golf Championship, Jaxen Brewer of Science & Arts has been named the Conference Player of the Year as voted on by the league’s head coaches.
 
Sebastian Velasquez of Texas Wesleyan earned this year’s Freshman of the Year award, while Blake Trimble of Oklahoma City garnered the league’s Coach of the Year honor.
 
Brewer is currently ranked 16^th in the nation as he has a scoring average of 70.6 this year and has won a tournament while placing in the top 3 twice this season. Brewer finished the SAC Championship in sixth place with a four-under-par score of 212.
 
Velasquez is currently ranked 53rd in the country and has a 72.0 stroke average this season, and has a top 3 finish to his credit.
 
Trimble led the Stars to a wire-to-wire finish to earn the conference championship for the first time since 2021. Oklahoma City is also ranked second in the latest NAIA Coaches Poll.
